Aloe Ferox Story

Aloe Ferox Story

Aloe Ferox is a succulent and well-known medicinal herb native to South Africa. Aloe Ferox has many different therapeutic uses and writings from as early as 1500BC in Ancient Egypt document its medicinal uses. For centuries this herb has been used topically for skin ailments like eczema and psoriasis. European sailors routinely used the sap to heal and protect their skin from the elements, rope burns, and salt water exposure. Modern research has verified the antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial functions of Aloe Ferox. Amongst other benefits, Aloe Ferox is known for its tonic effect on digestive functioning.

For centuries female instinct inspired women towards making themselves attractive to promote their “standing” in the community. From the earliest of days, the Aloe plant has played an important role in this ritual and as legend has it, was used by the beautiful Egyptian queens Cleopatra, Nefertiti and queen Esther from the Bible.

The Aloe Ferox plant today carries the same goodness and potent powers but with our certified aloe ingredients professionally formulated, now ensures optimal benefit of the much higher amino acid and aloin concentrations than most Aloe plants. The African Cape Aloe or Aloe Ferox, is also called “the lilly of the desert” and often referred to as “a pharmacy in a plant”. The plant is still harvested in its natural state, according to ancient traditions, supporting local communities and fair trade. The African Cape Aloe or Aloe Ferox, grows wild in the hills and valleys of the Southern Cape region of South Africa and no pesticides, herbicides or fertilisers are used. The gel of the African Cape Aloe or Aloe Ferox plant, contains 36% more total amino acids and 20 times more bitter sap with aloin than it’s counterparts.
